Also then I had to go to Poker Night. It’s a rough life, let me tell you.

Well gosh look at this, here we are, it has only been a couple of days since the last update, and already here there is an update for to have for you also enjoying the reading of the thing that is being updated now more than even once every week. And by that, I mean don’t be expecting any sort of pattern to develop here but maybe try checking back on Friday.

Um and also one interesting thing about this new method is that now I have all of this processed dead plant matter stained with various inks. So, anyone want to buy them? Seriously. Make me an offer.

Also, I forgot that I promised the owner of the How to Lose Weight blog that I’d thank him for discovering that this site had been hacked. Seriously. Not in an oh my goodness I had better not look at this site anymore or else my computer/my grandmother/I might get computer cancer but in a lame manipulate ranking algorithms by putting bogus invisible links all over the place sort of way. So, Thank you!

Oh hello everyone. Look, this is what happens in Space, where Space Octopus is from. Well ok I guess this is only a part of Space, which is big. Space is probably the biggest thing you can think of, it has just about everything in it. One thing that space does not have in it, however, is Heaven, which is that place that you go to when you die and you have been a good member of any number of religions.

A couple of things are going on here. First of all, it has come to be the case that to do any sort of real drawing in Photoshop on my geriatric (i.e. four year old) laptop requires that I spend about half an hour preparing the machine by saving and quitting all other open applications, which is just not a thing I am usually willing to commit to. So, um, here is a strip done in marker and then scanned in and embellished.

Who is Marm? Marm is the greatest. You may know her as “The Great Marm.”

Look about this lack of updates thing: fuck it. What ever. If anyone wants to give me a pile of money to pay my rent with and also like one of those nice Cintiq’s and a computer to hook it up to then I will happily start producing a comic every day, or like four or five a week, but you know what look at this art. So you just take what you can get.

hugs and kisses,

Blake.

Oh hello, here is this comic that I have made. I’m getting a bit more experimental here. For this comic I used pencils and paper and the scanner and the tablet and that Photoshop program instead of doing everything from scratch in photoshop with the tablet. I kind of like the texture working off of scanned sketches lends to the final product.

The careful observer may notice a few changes around here on the Infinity Day Weekend web site. For those who may be slightly less inclined to memorize every trifling detail about a web comic site that really there is no reason anyone should be reading in the first place, let me draw your attention to that PayPal donate button just below the comic itself, on the right side of the page. That’s right, the one you can click on to funnel funds to your favourite web comics author who is also the author of this web comic so that I might pay my rent and such, or, mercy me, purchase a reasonable set of computer hardware. Yes, so that’s been there a while, but look just below it! It’s an adorable little Facebook share button! You can click on it and share whatever delightful comic you’re reading with everyone you’ve made Internet friends with on Facebook! And below that is a button you can click on to follow me on Twitter! Isn’t that just wonderful? I have also replaced the old static ads for my t’shirts with fancy new Etsy mini thingies. They work pretty much the same, but look how many there are! And finally, and perhaps most excitingly, there is an all new Infinity Day Weekend fan page on Facebook! That’s right, you can let the entire Facebook population (i.e. the world) know that you not only read this terrible web comic, but you are in fact fanatical about it. Additionally you can see a little Facebook Fan Box (that’s what they’re calling it) below this text and if you’ve got a Facebook account you can become a fan simply by clicking the “become a fan” button! You know. If that’s the sort of thing you want to do. The Facebook Fan page is a great place to complain about the comic not getting updated or like to talk smack about my artistic credibility or posit your own theories about what this web comic might actually be “about.”

I have used the word “Facebook” more in this post that I think I ever have in the rest of my life. Also, in the time it took me to write this, we’ve acquired five fans. What the hell are you people doing?

That’s all. Have a good undetermined amount of time until the next update.

**UPDATE** Special thank you to the owner of the How to Lose Weight blog for discovering this site had been hacked.

Some interesting things have happened this past week and a half. One of those interesting things was getting featured on BoingBoing. Well ok my name is not even mentioned in the post, but that shirt that I made is featured prominently and I think that counts for something. Also I went to the aquarium and took some pictures of leafy sea dragons for a new shirt design. Look how cute they are:

Finally, Liv has beaten me at Scrabble like five times in a row, including one game where I was over a hundred points ahead after three turns but ended up loosing by three points. Liv is good at Scrabble.

You’re probably wondering why it’s been so long since the last post. Well there are some reasons. One reason was that I ran out of all that money I’d saved up to live off of while I figured out how to make a living as an artist. So it turns out that this comic doesn’t make me any money. Maybe at the most it was making me like fifty cents a day in add revenue. So I had to go and start busking a lot to make some money. Also I got all inspired to make a painting and those oil paintings do take some time. Then I kind of got serious about my t-shirt company or as I am trying to remember to refer to it as, my fashion line. My computer’s fans stopped working twice and running Photoshop would make it overheat. And also there was this terrible land-sea-anemone invasion.

Will I keep it up? I’m going to try, but the financial situation is pretty dire. If you like this comic, you should consider hitting that “donate” button, or buy one of my t-shirts (or buy several).

See you all in the future.

It is about some of the things that you can do if you are a god.

I started drawing this strip on Wednesday, thinking I’d get it all out of the way because we were supposed to have something called “The Sun” in the sky here in Boston on Thursday. Apparently “The Sun” is a thing which sends light and heat down from the sky to the ground instead of cold and rain. I know, sounds pretty crazy, but no kidding, I did see this bright light coming from the sky today. I had to go cover up all plants to protect them from the radiation. So anyway, I was going to get the comic all finished yesterday so that I could devote most of today to doing that thing that I do to make money, which involves standing outside and requires lots of people to be around and so it is nice to do it when there isn’t water falling from the sky, but I’ll tell you what, I worked on this thing for hours and hours yesterday and then still had to work on it for three more hours today. All of this is to introduce to you the new “donate” button tastefully placed above the garish banner add to the right which basically doesn’t make me any money at all (the price quoted below the add is per day, and I don’t even get all of that). So, you know, all you millionaires out there who have been thinking, “gee I wish there were some easy way to give Blake money so he could spend more time making things like this delightful Internet-comic” I think that if you click on that button you can make your dreams come true.

I will bet a lot of you are surprised and confused about how last time I was all like, “next update on Wednesday, friends,” and now here we are, on Wednesday, and there is an update, and it is even drawn pretty well. Pretty sure a couple of these images will make it into the next round of moo mini cards. I think this is the best picture of the space octopus drinking. Even perhaps even better than the classic drinking squidface. Hmm. Well now that I go back and actually look at it, that one is pretty good. I mean, Space Octopus is not as boisterous as Squidface, he’s more of a demure character, so here we are. Let us not judge our alcoholic imaginary cephalopod friends. Let us accept them for who they are.
